Job Duties and Tasks for: "Manufacturing Engineering Technologist"

1) Develop or maintain programs associated with automated production equipment.

2) Verify weights, measurements, counts, or calculations and record results on batch records.

 

3) Perform routine equipment maintenance.

4) Monitor manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to environmental policies and practices.

5) Oversee equipment start-up, characterization, qualification, or release.


 

6) Develop production, inventory, or quality assurance programs.

7) Estimate manufacturing costs.

8) Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies, processes, or equipment.

9) Ensure adherence to safety rules and practices.

10) Plan, estimate, or schedule production work.

11) Coordinate equipment purchases, installations, or transfers.

25) Train manufacturing technicians on topics such as safety, health, fire prevention, or quality.

26) Analyze manufacturing supply chains to identify opportunities for increased efficiency in the acquisition of raw materials.

27) Develop processes to recover, recycle, or reuse waste or scrap materials from manufacturing operations.

28) Develop sustainable manufacturing technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize raw material use, replace toxic materials with non-toxic materials, replace non-renewable materials with renewable materials, or reduce waste.

29) Evaluate current or proposed manufacturing processes or practices for environmental sustainability, considering factors such as green house gas emissions, air pollution, water pollution, energy use, or waste creation.
