Manager/Supervisors are generally found in smaller establishments where they perform both supervisory and management functions, such as accounting, marketing, and personnel work, and may also engage in the same logging work as the workers they supervise.

Job Duties and Tasks for: "Supervisors and Manager - Logging Worker"

1) Assign to workers duties such as trees to be cut, cutting sequences and specifications, and loading of trucks, railcars, or rafts.

2) Change logging operations or methods to eliminate unsafe conditions.

3) Communicate with forestry personnel regarding forest harvesting and forest management plans, procedures, and schedules.

4) Determine logging operation methods, crew sizes, and equipment requirements, conferring with mill, company, and forestry officials as necessary.

5) Monitor logging operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations.

6) Monitor workers to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations.
