Job Duties and Tasks for: "Stevedore, Except Equipment Operator"

1) Carries or moves cargo by handtruck to wharf and stacks cargo on pallets to facilitate transfer to and from ship.

2) Stacks cargo in transit shed or in hold of ship as directed.

3) Attaches and moves slings used to lift cargo.

4) Guides load being lifted to prevent swinging.

5) Shores cargo in ship's hold to prevent shifting during voyage.

6) Evaluate sources of information in order to determine any limitations in terms of reliability or usability.
