Job Duties and Tasks for: "Transportation Planner"

1) Prepare or review engineering studies or specifications.

2) Represent jurisdictions in the legislative or administrative approval of land development projects.

 

3) Prepare necessary documents to obtain project approvals or permits.

4) Direct urban traffic counting programs.

5) Develop or test new methods or models of transportation analysis.


 

6) Define or update information such as urban boundaries or classification of roadways.

7) Analyze transportation-related consequences of federal and state legislative proposals.

8) Analyze information from traffic counting programs.

9) Review development plans for transportation system effects, infrastructure requirements, or compliance with applicable transportation regulations.

10) Prepare reports or recommendations on transportation planning.

11) Produce environmental documents, such as environmental assessments or environmental impact statements.
