1) Pilots airplane to maintain order, respond to emergencies, to enforce traffic and criminal laws, and apprehend criminals.
2) Investigates traffic accidents and other accidents to determine causes and to determine if crime were committed.
3) Arrests perpetrator of criminal act or submits citation or warning to violator of motor vehicle ordinance.
4) Informs ground personnel where to re-route traffic in case of emergencies.
5) Informs ground personnel of traffic congestion or unsafe driving conditions to ensure traffic flow and reduce incidence of accidents.
6) Reviews facts to determine if criminal act or statute violation involved.
7) Expedites processing of prisoners, prepares and maintains records of prisoner bookings, and maintains record of prisoner status during booking and pre-trial process.
8) Prepares reports to document activities.
