Job Duties and Tasks for: "Skin Care Specialist"

1) Advise clients about colors and types of makeup, and instruct them in makeup application techniques.

2) Apply chemical peels in order to reduce fine lines and age spots.

 

3) Cleanse clients' skin with water, creams and/or lotions.

4) Demonstrate how to clean and care for skin properly, and recommend skin-care regimens.

5) Determine which products or colors will improve clients' skin quality and appearance.

6) Examine clients' skin, using magnifying lamps or visors when necessary, in order to evaluate skin condition and appearance.

7) Keep records of client needs and preferences, and the services provided.

8) Perform simple extractions to remove blackheads.

9) Remove body and facial hair by applying wax.

10) Select and apply cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, and tonics.

11) Sterilize equipment, and clean work areas.

 

12) Treat the facial skin to maintain and improve its appearance, using specialized techniques and products such as peels and masks.

13) Collaborate with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in order to provide patients with preoperative and postoperative skin care.

14) Give manicures and pedicures, and apply artificial nails.

 

15) Provide facial and body massages.

16) Refer clients to medical personnel for treatment of serious skin problems.

17) Sell makeup to clients.

18) Tint eyelashes and eyebrows.
