Job Duties and Tasks for: "Transformer Repairer"

1) Secures input and output wires in position.

2) Inspects transformer for defects, such as cracked weldments.

 

3) Dismantles lamination assembly, preparatory to cleaning and inspection.

4) Cleans transformer case, using scrapers and solvent.

5) Fills reassembled transformer with oil until coils are submerged.

6) Reassembles transformer.

7) Drains and filters transformer oil.

8) Disassembles distribution, streetlight, or instrument transformers.

9) Replaces worn or defective parts, using hand tools.

10) Winds replacement coils, using coil-winding machine.

11) Signals crane operator to raise heavy transformer component subassemblies.
